6. The laws related to our use of your personal data

Destination Gotland does not use sensitive personal information for this purpose and does not perform any activity that constitutes profiling based on a balance of interests.

6.4 As a member of My Destination, the use of personal information is based on consent. This applies, for example, to sending offers, information and ideas. You may choose to revoke your consent at any time. Destination Gotland uses profiles to send relevant information and offers to members of My Destination.

7. Profiling

7.1 Destination Gotland can use your personal information for profiling if you are a member of My Destination. 8. How long do we save information about you?

8.1 Your personal information will only be stored as long as there is a need to save it to fulfill the purposes for which the data was collected, in accordance with this privacy policy. The information you have provided for booking and reservation management will be stored for up to 7 years, personal information will be anonymized after 3 years.

8.2 Destination Gotland may save information for longer if it is required to comply with legal requirements or to protect Destination Gotland's legal interests, e.g. if there is a judicial process underway.

9. Who do we provide personal information to?

9.1 Destination Gotland may disclose your information to certain other companies. In cases where it is necessary to carry out our services, we share your personal information with companies that provide services to us. These companies process information on our behalf and according to our instructions. They help us with:

  • Payment solutions. Payment service providers such as banks and card-issuing companies.
  • IT services. Business operations, technical support and maintenance of our IT solutions.
  • Information dissemination. Email and SMS services linked to traffic information.

  • Subcontractors providing services in Destination Gotland's range. Accommodation facilities, event companies, bus companies.

9.2 Personal information may also be provided by Destination Gotland, if necessary, to comply with relevant legal or governmental requirements, to protect the legal interests of Destination Gotland, or to detect and prevent fraud and other security or technical issues.

9.3 Destination Gotland manage your personal information within the EU / EEA area. In cases where your data is used outside the EU, by one of our service providers for example, we always ensure that there are safeguards in place, such as a data transfer agreement, so that the recipients treat the information in the same safe manner we do.

9.4 Destination Gotland will not sell your personal information to third parties unless we have your permission.

10. What are cookies and how do we use them?

A cookie is a small text file stored on your computer. It contains information to enhance your experience. Some cookies at www.destinationgotland.se are used to improve the website. These cookies save statistics about, for example, the visitor's operating system and browser, and which pages are visited. No personal information is saved. Other cookies, such as session cookies, are used for technical reasons during online booking. 11. How do we protect your personal information?

We use IT systems to protect the privacy of and access to personal information. We have taken security measures to protect your personal information against unauthorized or illegal treatment. Only those persons who actually need to use your personal information to fulfill our stated purposes have access to it.

In the case of sensitive personal information, we have established special eligibility checks, which means even greater protection for your personal information.

12. Your rights

12.1 Destination Gotland is responsible for processing your personal information in accordance with relevant legislation.

12.2 Destination Gotland will, at your request or on its own initiative, correct, disassociate, delete or supplement information that is found to be incorrect, incomplete or misleading.

12.3 You are entitled to request:

  • Access to your personal information. This means that you are entitled to request an outline of how we use your personal information. You are also entitled to receive a copy of the personal information we use. You are entitled, once per calendar year, by written signed application, to receive a free copy of any personal information that is kept about you.
  • Amending your personal information. We will prompt you to correct any incomplete or incorrect information about you as soon as possible.
  • Deleting your personal information. You are entitled to request that your personal information is deleted if it is no longer necessary for the purpose for which it was collected. However, there may be legal requirements that dictate that we cannot immediately delete your personal information, for example, in accordance with accounting and tax laws.
  • Limitation of use. This means that your personal information is marked so that it can only be use for certain limited purposes.

12.4 Destination Gotland will notify each company in receipt of personal information, as outlined in section 9 above, about any amendments to or deletion of information, as well as limitations in the use of information.

12.5 Right to transfer information. You are entitled to request the transfer of information relating to you, which you have provided to us, to another responsible person.

A prerequisite for data transfer is that the transfer is technically possible and can be automated.

12.6 If you do not want Destination Gotland to use your personal information for direct marketing, you can withdraw your consent at any time by emailing info@destinationgotland.se. Once we receive the withdrawal of your consent, we will cease using your personal information for marketing purposes.

12.7 If you believe that the use of your personal data is in violation of data protection legislation, please let us know. You can also file a complaint with the data inspection board.
